About the Society
Recognizing the need to establish, promote and develop Family Medicine as a distinct specialty in Bangladesh, dedicated Family Physicians and General Practitioners established SFMB as a professional and academic body.

To establish Family Medicine as the foundation of primary healthcare in Bangladesh, ensuring accessible, comprehensive and continuous care for individuals, families and communities.

Aims of the Society
To advocate for the recognition of Family Medicine as a cornerstone of the healthcare system.
To develop and promote Family Medicine by establishing a training wing for education, training and certification.
To provide a platform for continuing professional development (CPD) for Family Physicians and GPs.
To encourage research, innovation and academic excellence in Family Medicine.
To collaborate with national and international medical organizations.
To raise awareness among policymakers, providers and the public about Family Medicine.
